SCENE: A dark place

SCARY MONSTER
You're mine now!

PERSON
Um, what?

SCARY MONSTER
There's no escape!

PERSON
From?

SCARY MONSTER
Me, you foolish person! I'm going to peel off your skull and eat your brains!

PERSON
Wow.

SCARY MONSTER
There's nowhere to run.

PERSON
So you said. Before the peeling and the eating, can I ask you something?

SCARY MONSTER
Ask me something?

PERSON
Yes. Why?

SCARY MONSTER
Why?

PERSON
Why would you want to peel and eat me?

SCARY MONSTER
(laughing)
You question me? Your little life means nothing to me!

PERSON
See, now that just doesn't make sense to me.

SCARY MONSTER
Silence!

PERSON
No, really. If my life means nothing to you, what's the big deal if you peel me or not?

SCARY MONSTER
(laughing)
You're going to die.

PERSON
What's so funny?

SCARY MONSTER
What?

PERSON
You keep laughing. What is it with you monsters. You're always laughing at something. Why?

SCARY MONSTER
You keep asking questions of me when I'm going to kill you. You should be screaming! Grrrr!!!

PERSON
"Grrr"? I wonder what makes that sound a fear inducing sound...

SCARY MONSTER
I should shut you up!

PERSON
And yet you still stand here, "grr"ing at me, discussing your unmotivated, homicidal desires.

SCARY MONSTER
What?!

PERSON
I really want to know what it is that makes you want to kill me.

SCARY MONSTER
I'm just... Going to kill you!

PERSON
Fine. I'm sure you have your reasons.

SCARY MONSTER
NO! There are no reasons! I'm a monster! We've met in a dark corner! Now I'm supposed to kill you!

PERSON
Says who?

SCARY MONSTER
Shut up!

PERSON
Okay. There's no need for shouting.

SCARY MONSTER
Yes! There is! Now cower before me!

PERSON
Instead of the peeling and eating?

SCARY MONSTER
No! You cower while I peel your skull and eat your brains!

PERSON
Well, this wasn't what we originally discussed.
